We are both attracted to looking at, capturing and observing the gradual changes of the reflections between the tall buildings surrounding us everyday and the light inflicted by the sun and the sky, we want to make these buildings / small blocks of units come alive in an audiovisual way.
In our busy daily life, people usually just walk past by or in between these large concrete structures without paying much attention to them. However when the two of us sometimes look up for the poetical patterns generated by the reflections, we feel like there is actually a set of interesting sounds coming out of these originally quiet and static buildings.
We imagine our project to be something like showing the buildings’ pulse width hidden inside and bringing a new layer of vitality to them. And also to remind people to notice tiny changes around us and start to appreciate the beauty in them.
This project explores the sounds of life in modern-day buildings as a larger unit by collecting the shifts in color and light reflected on the windows over time, and translating them into sound.
Using IMU sensor/ linear potentiometer to control the sound and speed of the videos inside p5 sketch.
People will rotate the ballon around or move the slider to manipulate the sound and speed of the projected video.
